Project Outline

West Cork Arts Centre commissioned the making of ‘Scissors Discovery Box’; a self-directed gallery resource for young children and their parents/adult carers to use autonomously, both one to one or as groups of friends in the gallery. The Discovery Box can engage and guide the public through the concepts and processes of the exhibiting artist/s.

Scissors Cut Paper Wrap Stone is an exhibition of contemporary art that responds to a science-fiction story of mind-controlling images, featuring Irish and International artists: Alan Butler, Clawson & Ward, Eva Fàbregas, Pakui Hardware, Joey Holder (at Ormston House), Jennifer Mehigan (WCAC), John Russell, Andrew Norman Wilson. Originally curated by Alissa Kleist and Matt Packer for CCA Derry-Londonderry in Spring 2016, Scissors Cut Paper Wrap Stone tours to Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre (14 January – 25 February 2017) and Ormston House, Limerick (24 March – 27 May 2017).
