Puppet Portal-Hospital C-Day 2
Made card puppets with finger feet. Did some Puppet exercises e.g. Puppet Push-ups. Very funny. Participants threw together `Puppetopia` a city scape of puppet villas as a theatre backdrop complete with felt bunny in the grass
Performances videoed today included Woof Woof the Wolf revealing his interests and appetites in an exclusive interview for camera. His passion for football inspired a nail-biting penalty shoot out performance between him and Fernando Torres. And a third puppet , who was shy to speak, performed his range of exercises.
Good fun and positive feedback from everyone including mums.
I`d like to encourage the storytelling aspect more - will build in more story activities.
The transitional nature of the classroom is a challenge with participants coming and going, anxieties being diverted and check-ups every now and then. Requires thorough prep, forward thinking and absolute flexibility. The awkwardness of adapting furniture to suit multiple tasks in a small space is to be addressed by making a mobile theatre....to be continued when we have some `parts` to build with!
