Background
Zhenia Mahdi-Nau is an artist whose practice expands from traditional painting and illustration to photography, digital art, multi-media and music. She has taught and worked extensively with groups including children and youth and uses a variety of art forms to explore individuals personal stories and unique talents.
She holds a Master of Science in Future Communications, BA Honours Degree in Visual Communication, City & Guilds teaching certificate, HSD in Fashion and is a member of the Arts Council Creative Youth Programme (CYP) artists and has attended Child Protection Training programs.
Her recent projects include Narrative Explosions 1, a short film & project commissioned by Old Museum Arts Centre, working with young women in Belfast; and Narrative Explosions 2, a poetry, photography & imaging project with children at St. Dominics Grammar, Belfast. She has also carried out mural painting projects with children and youth in the Marina Centre in Ballyronan; Age Concern in Cookstown; Sliabh Beagh Development Association in Roslea; and St. Macartans Youth & Community Centre, Augher.
She also teaches courses in Digital Imaging and Manipulation with Adobe Photoshop, Digital photography, Interactive Media and Web Design. She is a fashion design consultant to Marina Rinaldi (MaxMara group), Italy and has exhibited her paintings in a number of venues throughout Ireland.
