Background

I studied at the University of Ulster, Belfast graduating from the BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art degree programme in 2005 and Masters in Fine Art in 2007. I have been working in the Glasgow School of Art in their Widening Particiaption department as project coordinator for the GSA/LCC Summer Exchange programme that promotes young people from disadvantaged areas of Glasgow and London to go on to further education in art, design and architecture and i also spent a lot of time volunteering with community art organisations based in the North Glasgow area. I am now based in Belfast focusing on the development of my art practice and involvement with the local community arts scene.

Professional Statement

I am a multi-disciplinary artist. I am currently working mainly in sculptural textiles but have a huge passion for drawing and my practice regularly explores the dialogue between sculpture and drawing. I work freelance in local TV and Film, recently working on the Northern Ireland Digital Shorts series due to be screened at the QFT in Dec 2009. I am committed to communtiy arts and working with children and young people and persue this through volunteering and paid project work and workshops whenever opportunites arise.
