Professional Statement

Dance has always being part of me for dance is about connecting to self and a powerful means to express, celebrate, and transform human experience. My work has been influenced by my roots in Brazil and own experiences. I am a natural expresser of the within and my vocabulary emerges from training, working with other professional bodies, from dancing and choreographing for wide-ranging ages and levels of experience. Throughout my creative process I always seek to be honest about the artist that I am, avoiding to become somebody else that it is not part of me. As an Irish-based dance Artist I like to engage my cultural background to what is current, aiming to create spaces where the body may tell its own story. I believe dance encourages us to stay rooted in our bodies as we act, decide, and participate in the world, so my art transpires from the personal. I offer classes in Movement/Drama, Contemporary and Creative dance based on certain approaches and techniques (such as ballet, modern dance, somatic and Laban) with a main emphasis on the dancers own creativity.
