Professional Statement

Caoimhe studied Fine Art, and Model-making and Design in DLIADT, but first caught the creative bug back in 1995, kindling her interest in puppetry and mask making with Dun Laoghaire’s Red Lemon Youth Theatre. Caoimhe has created masks for performance as well as exhibition. She has created pieces for several productions by Dublin Lyric Players as well as creating masks for the National Library’s Yeats Exhibition -currently in the National Library. Recently, she worked as a prop maker for the Wexford Festival Opera 2014. This Autumn she will be returning for the 2015 Wexford Festival Opera and will also begin work on the Wexford Art Office’s Living Arts Project. From 2005 to 2014, Caoimhe worked with Buí Bolg Productions as a model & prop maker, designer, puppeteer, performer and as their primary Outreach Artist and Youth Arts Facilitator. She has directed, and performed and devised street theatre shows with Buí Bolg and Buí Bolg Youth Arts and has facilitated a mix of workshops for them and others. Her work and designs has appeared in many of their productions. Caoimhe has facilitated workshops in carnival puppet making at NYCI Summer School in both 2011 and 2012. She has also facilitated workshops at the National Youth Theatre Festival in 2013. Locally she facilitated workshops for the Wexford Branch of ATAI, and shadow puppetry & circus workshops at Our Lady of Fatima School, in Wexford
