Sticky Fingers - Telling Through Body and Objects

Sticky Fingers Early Years Arts Training Day with Bruno Cappagli of La Baracca, Italy [October 14]

“Telling through body and objects"

As part of their month-long October festival, Sticky Fingers is hosting a special training day for early years teachers, artists and other professionals on Friday 14th October in Newry, Co. Down. Delivered by La Baracca’s Artistic Co-director Bruno Cappagli, this theatrical and general arts training will explore the body and found objects as a springboard for the creation of stories and characters. ‘Telling’ is a theatrical and general arts workshop for teachers and educators which will develop participants’ artistic skills for the early years. This engaging workshop is an opportunity for early years practitioners to approach complex languages, gradually exploring the possibilities and limits of one’s expressiveness. Offering fractions and images of experience, this training will allow participants to share their own experiences and knowledge that everyone can then later reprocess and use in their personal and professional path. The objects: This workshop will focus on the object: the object as a creative suggestion, as a means for the creation of a character or a story; the object as an element that can influence improvisation and narration. The body: A workshop on moving bodies, bodies exploring the world of fantasy and imagination: a physical theatre experience encouraging the discovery of the places where ‘stories appear’. Requirements: Comfortable clothes (please note we will work barefoot). Please bring a small object with you (a mirror, a spoon, a comb...) Cost: This special training day is available at a special rate of £30 (inclusive of lunch). Book online at
