Disposable camera project, Slide show, drawings and storyboards..

The disposable camera project was the first part of the project that we tackled in week four.
The groups had given me their cameras to take home and I had the images processed for them. The photographs that they took are very revealing and moving. I am in the process of planning out how would be best to present them. I am considering showing them as a projected slideshow. I would like to add an element of transcribed text ( that each child would write to discuss the image ). Over Easter I will be scanning the photographs and also the drawings in order to make this slideshow. The images are of such observations as tractors, houses, calves, lambs, family members, Football t -shirts, each other, everyday observations that become very telling and poiniant I think. Especially with the awareness that they have been seen and taken through the eyes of a child.

As it was such a beautiful day we then went outside and made line drawings based on the images from the photographs, using pencils and black marker pens.

The next phase of the day was to set up the slide projector and view a show made from our new colored slide drawings ( we now have a batch of color drawings as well as
as black and white. So we have quite a full set of slides to show, these are beautiful and as was revealed the week before there are some tin whistle players in the class so the played an eyre while we watched the show. ( I think this piece is now complete and ready for exhibit)

After lunch we went through the storyboards ( which we are preparing for the shadow shows ) Discussing where we would take them from here. The room then became a hive of industry as the storyboards become richer and richer and they worked on them right through till the end of the day.

I had brought black card and brass fastners with me to begin to make the puppets but we didn`t get that far in the end. We will have lots to do after the Easter break and I get some time to prepare and put some extra time in to the project over Easter scanning, sorting and planning and reviewing the project.
