Day 4,phase 2

Today we looked at Native Americans. We looked at their culture, art and puppets. We made rope puppets with big feather head dressed. There was 5 children from age 5 to 13. Once we made the puppets we made a set with tps and grass on the table. We played on the table with the puppetsit was a lot of fun the puppets plated games, danced and sang, then the grass slipped and two of the puppets fell of the earth but with the aid of Pocahontas`s long rope legs they climbed back up. While playing on the swings pocahontas hurt her head but she paid a visit to the medican man and all was better. We played some more games before all went to lunch.

One little girl would not speak at all she made the puppet but would not communicate once we started to play with the puppets she went from moving it slightly to talking in whispers, to slowly but surely running around , interacting with the others and talking alot through the puppets it was so lovely she didnt want to leave for lunch and when i passed her in the ward she was always carrying her puppet.

I was videoing the session but one of the children wanted me to join in with the puppet so i did as i taught it was more benifical, luckily the teacher on work experience joined in with the video, she also helped on drums for sound.

In the Afternoon we made another indian with a boy and his mom, i think his mom was having the most fun :) . the teaching assistant came with me into an isolation ward where we made two fairys with a little girl she wants to put them on top of her christmas tree, i hope they last that long .
