Day 9 on the 17/06/09

Today started of with a general theme of bugs, we had a visit from Edelle who is evaluating the project. She joined in and made a ladybug. There where spiders, butterflies, beetles and caterpillars. We had between 5 to 12 year olds there was 7 children with 5 that stayed through out .

Two parents really got involved in the making process and we had another mom come and get involved in the play. We went on aiteila and saw paddy in temple street (Limerick’s Travelling puppet) as well as some lovely puppets: and went back to playing with our puppet. There was a back drop of webs and trees and then the bugs escaped into the classroom. Two spiders being chased by a bird who wanted to eat them. We then wrote what Einstein had been up to that day he was a real hit all the puppets told him their names and they all liked putting him on and playing with him.

Einstein went to visit one of the regulars who is going to make a puppet like him next week. Actually we are going to have an Einstein inspired day next week. I went to the ward to work with a girl and her dad in her room; she wasn’t aloud to leave her room and wanted to escape out the window. Her dad made a spider and she made three butterflies. the spider ran around the floor, the butterflies chased and bashed off each other and then her butterfly(puppeteered by her) pulled me around the room it was great fun, my butterfly escaped for a few victorious moments only to be caught again.

We look forward to seeing paddy home and hearing of his great adventures.
