Evaluation Meeting 11th June

We had a very successful project evaluation meeting in June, which brought together all the artists and teachers involved in the project, to share the work that they had done and discuss in more detail, focusing on reflection of the process - positives and challenges.

To start, each artist/ teacher pairing gave a short presentation of the work that they did with the children, across a range of themes.

Some of the themes were: ’layers’, ’changes’, ’light and translucence’, ’listen, compose, perform’, ’interconnectedness’, ’movement’.

All of the work was also documented on our online journals: http://projects.kidsown.ie

After the presentations, we conducted a short evaluation of what we had seen and heard, based around the following 3 questions:

- What did you see and hear?
- When were you nodding in agreement or frowning in confusion?
- What learnings/ insights did you gain about your own work or in general?

Here are some of the responses:

(1)

"I’m learning"

"The studio is a special place"

"You have to be able to listen"

"We" (over again)

"Stepping back"

"Focused"

"Not so sure"

"Valuable"

"Will I stay or will I go?"

"Giving time"

"The children really enjoy it"

Tiny screen

"Window"

"Took longer than expected"

"Where was Joe?"

"Trust"

"Plan in time to allow for deviations"

Reflective - emotions/feelings
Interpretive - Insights/ learnings
Decisional - decisions for future/ next steps

Here are some of the responses.
