Day 2 - Paper Potential

I showed the children what I had been working on since seeing them last. I`m making this a stable element of each contact session. The children were very receptive and vocal. We also looked at some of the video work I had previously made and some children became excited about the idea of overlapping imagery.

We set to work on making 3D maps. The children were very creative with the limited material of white paper and blue tack, choosing to work either individually or with others. By lunch we had at least eight landscapes, each completely different and each to a different scale! We agreed to group them all together and create an installation space on the floor with them.

The group then split choosing to either draw sections of the installation, concentrating on light and shade, or working as a group to make a short video piece concentrating on the movement of light on the installation. This had come from last week`s discussion on the movement of the sun and how light is constantly changing.
