World War II begins, St Matthias National School, Ballydehob, 2nd - 4th class

Description

Our film is about how sad it was in 1939 because World War II began.

We were inspired by the James L. Hayes exhibition. One part of the exhibition had a dark room with lots of planes. We made clay planes and paper planes. We hung up the planes and they made shadows on the wall. In the film we used lighting to light up the soldiers and create shadows. Please notice the little people and the squirrels at the bottom of the pylons in the installation shown in our film.

We enjoyed making the film, especially the stop motion animation. We loved making the clay planes the posters and drawings for the film.
