Writing in hindsight:
Week seven saw a return to the broader theme of change. A diversion from the developing theme of change in weather/sky/environment. We continued with the use of the window panes and with the use of light to create moving shadow plays.
In attempting to find ties within the curriculum to compliment Charlotte`s work with the children, we realised that this session would incorporate english and drama.
The children worked in groups to create individual shadow plays on semi-transparent panels. The themes they chose were unrelated to the work that had preceeded this session. While it was clear that both the children and Charlotte enjoyed this session, I struggle with the fact that the theme has been lost.
Week eight I spent time looking at work that had been made with a number of the children and deciding how to display it. We also finished filming the shadow plays we had created the week before. Meanwhile Charlotte assisted the children in the creation of an installation of winter weather suspended in the hallway of the school. I made a short DVD of the overall process of the eight weeks to show to the children themselves, the other class and teacher and the parents who visited the school in the final week.
