Day 16 - Doors open
Day sixteen was the final day of the residency and an Open Day. A lot of planning went into this day and the teacher and children really pulled out all the stops to make it a really positive experience. Each child voluntarily brought in home-baked goodies, which took up three tables when all combined! Parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins and friends came along and gave wonderful feedback to the children and in our comment book. Pairs of the children were stationed around the school at various pieces of work and explained to visitors what they were looking at and how it was made. I made an overall process dvd showing images from all previous fifteen weeks of work to help tie it all together.
Again, the children were so focused and did a great job of welcoming and explaining to all the visitors. Every scrap of food disappeared and we ended with a huge cheer and a shout!
