Day 8 on the 10/06/09

Today we used a playing board that was cut out last week by one of the parents. It was the titanic. There was a lovely small group of four. First they each made a bird, they where very colourfull. There was loads of chat and play today while they made and the puppets flew around the table.

We talked about titanic but it was more of a back ground theme. The three boys started making pirates which ended up being two chinese warriors and a knight. The girl started making a princess who because of the way the paper looked turned into marge simpson.

We then went to live link up a very shy boy who would not talk at all came up to see what was going on in the other hospitals and showed his puppet, he still didnt talk but was nice he showed an interest.

Then we went to playing and videoing. Captain smith tried to keep the ship in order. but marge fell off and the chinese warrior saved her, the knight lost his helmet to the sea. the captain turned out to be homer in disguise.Three of the children performed, with the teacher using the forth boys puppet as he was tired.

Then i worked with one girl in the day ward who was very artistic and made a rainbow bird.

The Moonwalker from Sligo/ moon went and visited the ward with his travel book and met the puppets on the puppet board.

Then a boy made a crow and gave the moonwalker a feather.

This week i had two little boys who wouldnt talk but seemed content to make, it really is inspiring to see children who really arent well just get on with it.

looking forward to meeting are final puppet visitor next week.
