Day 1 on the 15/07/09
Today was my first day back at the hospital. It was a different setting being based in the playroom, I had a big group but it included some children under the age of 4 so a broad range. As its in the playroom and there are alot of children coming and going we didnt perform as such but the children left there puppets on as they interacted with the toys and other children in the room and would come back to see what new people who had joined where up to. We did have a dance and there was lots of biting as some off the puppets had really big mouths, one boys had a small one he said its was plastic sergery, but once hes puppet got bitten alot he was reconsidering the surgery.
I then got to work with two boys and one of there sisters who i had worked alot with during the puppet portal. They really enjoyed the mess of making plaster paris puppets and painting them, we didnt perform with them but it was great making puppets with the children that would last alot longer. The double sided tape is great for quick puppets to perform with but they fall apart so quick.
I then worked with a three year old girl in isolation she made two fairys with me and we hung them up in her room.
For a half day it feels like alot was done and wasnt rushed either. Im back for another day on friday.
