Puppet Portal Project Hospital C Day 14
Only one child could attend the workshop today and by the end he was very impressed with his achievements - making puppets, performing, video-recording, web link-up, video editing and diary writing. He even burned his own dvd to take away.
The theme of the day was Animal Habitats and our link up portal had a backdrop of a nature landscape. The other hospitals could not hear us unfortunately, despite having tested and reinstalled the microphone and being able to hear ourselves on our other computer. This impacted on our participant`s enjoyment of the web link in general and he voted it `boring` later in the day. Being able to speak and be responded to is much more important than simply viewing. We did type to the other hospitals though and saw some interesting characters.
However we made a fun show about a `Hungry Lion`. This child had been fasting for hours waiting for surgery and it didn`t go unnoticed that his lion ate a whole rhino (courtesy of Edelle, ext evaluator from Spiral Orchard).
