Early Years Arts: A Portrait from Abroad

The final section of my early years quilt which has been stitched together over the past months deals with the portrayal of early years arts abroad and how we fit into the picture.

It is extremely interesting to witness companies from totally different cultures learning the same language together as they consider specialising in producing and performing professional theatre for 0-6 years.

In this final section, we will hear stories from Laura Lee Rockendoerfer in Austria, founder of the award-winning Teater Nuu, from Sarah Argent of Theatre Iolo in Wales and from Emily Austen of Birdsnest Theatre Company in the UK.

I hope that we will all continue to knit the fabric of this fascinating and highly specialized sector of professional arts development.

With thanks to all who have followed this edition with interest,
Here’s to a bright future for our early years communities,
Cliodhna Noonan
