Project Outline
During March 2013, West Cork Arts Centre commissioned me to create a soft cloth sensory book to document the ‘Discovery box’ in collaboration with artist Susan Montgomery for the Mikala Dwyer exhibition Panto Collapsar.
Discovery box is a free, self-directed resource for parents and carers to use with their young children in the gallery. It contains a series of bespoke imaginative tools to stimulate ideas for experiential and creative learning, supporting investigation and exploration of the artwork through play and conversation. WCAC created the discovery box in 2008, since them has commissioned different artists to develop tailored gallery-based activities related to specific WCAC exhibitions.
