Project Outline

Since 1997 a cluster of six schools has collaborated on the innovative Creativity in the Classroom project. This project uses visual arts as a means of helping children develop their sense of self. Intrinsic to the project is the partnership between the artist and teacher. Together they work in pursuit of the common goal of providing children with time to explore their creative energy, time and space to allow a multitude of emotional responses to enfold, the opportunity to develop language skills, and provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the overall development of the child. Creativity in the Classroom in its essence provides the space to play, grow, and discover new talents.
