    Created 2010-03-24 by Shona MacGillivray

    Location: Urban - Co. Clare

    Duration: 2010-03-24 to 2010-05-26

Project Outline

Large messy markmaking using paint and unusual tools....balloons filled with paint, floor brushs, dishwashing brushs, old socks, wheels, variety of balls etc.. Having worked with these children before I wanted to see their reaction to being free, unrestricted, to paint big and experiment as they wished. The children dressed up,head to toe, in disposable white overalls We were outdoors, under a roof. Paper on wall, or floor,Each session they were offered different tools , one day directing paint to paper on the wall with holes in paint filled balloons, another scooting, skateboarding or wheelchairing over the paper, another playing blow football with painted balls. Each artist had their own paper, their silhouette was added to it as a reminder of how it was created, and to personalise it for public viewing...but it was the doing that realy mattered, the fun, and the wonderfully messy paint.
