Project Outline
‘Connect - me - knots’ a collaborative socially engaged art project highlighting friendship and communal interconnectivity and interculturalism of people through the creative use of the universal symbolism of ‘knots’. RippleArt Works in conjunction with The Base, Ballyfermot are delighted to be working on this unique art project with the participation of children from the surrounding schools. Each child will have the opportunity to create their own ‘Connect-me-knot’ a decorative front door hanging. Actualisation of their interconnectivity will take place on 14th December 2012 from 3-4 pm in the form of a public art event ‘Hour Art’ where the children and their households will be invited to display the childrens art on the doors of their own homes, in their own community. This event is not limited to the children attending the workshops but open to the entire community,as every event needs an audience!
