Mary Branley - Deep Listening
Mary Branley delivered a session on ’deep listening’, which gave an introductory flavour of how to develop our listening skills, based on some of the practices she had learned at Dzogchen Beara, in West Cork.
Listening is a skill that Mary has developed and exercised in her work with Kids’ Own, over 10 years. As a writer, she works with children to help them to draw on their own thoughts and experiences, rather than creating fictional content which has less meaning and relevance to children’s lives.
This presentation included short activity sessions, in which we practised speaking, listening and observing in groups of 3.
