Project Outline

DRAW SPACE

http://drawspace3.wordpress.com/

Is a opportunity for artist Maree Hensey to  communicate visually a process led approach, collaboration and the language of drawing.

No artwork can exist without a drawing drawing charts every movement every action every sequence of thoughts. Drawing is when you are faced with a blank page and you pick up whatever is at hand, pencil charcoal, marker. You make a mark on the page. This moment is the beginning of a wonderful journey of discovery and self-expression. The mark is yours whether it is a response to a sound, music landscape, or emotion. It is yours.

The drawing will evolve over time and to develop subtle collaborations to arrive at work that not only tells a story but also characterizes each of the three different locations, the participants, the geographical context, the sense of place. The work will unfold through mutual communication and equal enthusiasm, ideas and decisions will develop organically. We will make connections through sharing our experieces of the work we make.

DRAWSPACE  is part of ‘Practice’  a national touring exhibition of work by artists and children, created through joint processes of exploration and enquiry.

Practice presents an opportunity for insight into a range of projects by artists Helen Barry, Ann Donnelly, Naomi Draper, Ann Henderson, Maree Hensey, Fiona Kelleher and Christine Mackey.
‘Practice’ seeks to present an open space inviting response, engagement and questioning.
